Lunch 14/07/2012

Tiger and I hit the supermarket to buy food and we found a small buey (We have different names for different crabs, this is a large brown crab) suitable for two people. I love seafood so I had to have it :') It's already boiled so I only had to prepare the head (mix its contents with a boiled egg and white wine)

Second course was Galician style~octopus with baked paprika potatoes :') The little dish on the right has some marinated dogfish leftovers.

Dinner 11/07/2012

Tiger and I went to Ke Wok to have dinner :') We ordered our usual ton of sushi and sashimi, but what I was really looking forward was this amazing Thai Chili wok, really spicy and HOT!

You know you're able to choose the raw the ingredients, the sauce and then they cook it for you :') I chose: aubergine, zucchini, mix of mushrooms, squids, prawns and onion. I always have trouble finishing this dish because is crazy spicy but it can't be helped, I love it :')
Tiger hates spicy food though :'P He had the teriyaki sauce and it was so sweet he couldn't finish it, heheh~

Dinner 10/07/2012

Sometimes a Tiger only wants a good Tortilla de patatas (spanish omelette or fritatta) :') Yesterday I cooked one for him, but it came out so big it would have served 2 or 3 people, heheh~

See how thick it is? :'P I make it with onion, but just fries, eggs, oil and salt make a great tortilla.
For me, I grilled eggplant, onion, potato, radish and cabbage with a pinch of salt and pepper and some soy sauce. Delicious~

Tomorrow there won't be a lunch post, because we have a ton of leftovers~ :'P

Lunch 09/07/2012

Yesterday night I had a ton of cereal (like a TON! :'P ) watching a movie with Tiger so today I'm keeping it light eating lean protein (and, ok, two slices of my mom's cheese with anchovies :'D) and salad. Tomatoes, asparagus, and tuna with balsamic vinegar

Main course was chili prawns and surimi ~super spicy, yum~.

If you're like me and you have a problem with self control, do not take all the box of cereal to the bed with you :'P

Dinner 06/07/2012

There's nothing like fresh fish fillets :') To get the most out of them I grilled them with toasted sliced garlic, salt and parsley. Then we had them with lemon. Hake fillets are healthy and easy to cook, they're nice breaded but I rather them grilled.

I made a salad to share with Tiger :') It had spinach, tomatoes, soy, sweet and sour carrot, tuna and white asparagus.

Dinner 05/07/2012

Dinner today consisted of a mix of several vegetables (aubergine, mushrooms, potatos, onion and zucchini) cooked in the oven with soy sauce.

It makes up a great course, very easy to prepare, serves well for two people and very healthy! Or at least healthy for Rabbit since I ate them in mexican tortitas with a ton of cheese... Yummy!

See ya!

Lunch 05/07/2012

Completely raw and vegetarian lunch today :')
This salad has spinach, tomato, soy and carrots. Balsamic vinegar and salt for dressing, as always.

For dessert, I took a slice of wholegrain toasted bread and put some of this cute little guy on top. Yum :')

(I didn't put THAT much, it's just for informational purposes :'P )
Pineapple soft cheese is my all~time favorite!!

Lunch 04/07/2012

Recently I've learned that my favorite fastfood restaurant, Maoz Vegetarian is closing their only restaurant in Madrid. So there wont be anymore Maoz for me :'(  Tiger and I went to have dinner and they kindly gave us the leftovers so I had them for lunch yesterday.

My Maoz salad had cous cous, tomato sauce, fried cauliflower and carrotsI also made a leek and mackerel fillets salad, in order to have some protein after my workout.
Booooh I'm gonna miss it :'(

Lunch 03/07/2012

Awwww :'( I finished my mom's homemade wild trout in brine today. Yum :')
It was enough protein by itself so I just had some low~cal zucchini and cheese cream. The cream it's only 100 cal, and if you have it warm, before the main dish, it's filling and helps you don't overeat.

Cream was great but the trout was delicious :')
Thank you mom <3

Lunch 02/07/2012

Back home with my regular meals, but using some of the food my mom gave me yesterday! Love you mom <3 I'm a bit homesick~

Leek salad with tuna chunks in olive oil, and some smoked salmon with anchovies ( I put them over toasted wheat bread, the anchovies taste amazing with smoked salmon! )

Tapas 30/06/2012

Tiger and I went to spend the weekend at my parent's home, so we could celebrate together the patron saint's days of my hometown. These holidays are all about food and drinks, so we had plenty of tapas and other delicious food (my mom's homemade dishes and other fancy menus from restaurants) Here are the tapas we had:

These puff pastry were filled with peppers and mushrooms and covered in that white soft cheese sauce. Pretty good, a bit too oily but loved the crunchiness!

Mackerel chunks with balsamic vinegar over bread with caramel~coated onions. Nothing special but mackerel does work well with onions.

Big mussel croquette. Tasted like other famous tapa called "Tigres" (Tigers in spanish!) which are stuffed mussels. This croquette just lacked the shell, heheh.

Lunch 29/06/2012

The other day Rabbit made me one of my favourite dishes of all times: an spanish omelette! For those who don't know, it's made of fries, eggs, and in this case also fried onions. It was quite big for only one person, but it was so good I had to eat it all! hehe

See ya!

Lunch 28/06/2012

We're having the air conditioning machine fixed so Tiger came to have lunch with me in case I needed help. Yay :') Love some lunch company. Eating is such a social activity, isn't it?
I cooked a homemade spinach, onion and mushrooms pie for him. It came out pretty delicious, or so it seems. He ate it all! He snacked on some dices of semi~hard cheese as well.

For me, some quinoa with peppers and tofu, in soy and chili sauce. Pretty good too.
Quinoa is everything rice and pasta should be. Nice flavor, filling, low fat, fast to boil, lots of fiber and protein. Have you tried it? It's great in salads too :')

Dinner 27/06/2012

Yesterday was match night again and Tiger ordered one of my favorite dinners to celebrate :') Seaweed and prawn balls and maguro (tuna) sashimi. Yay :')

Tiger had a slice or two of the sashimi and half a stuffed aubergine, which had tuna, peppers and cheese filling. We also shared some sardines in brine with wheat toasted bread.

And yeah, we won :')

Lunch 27/06/2012

I almost didn't make it to the gym today! I was feeling lazy but finally I went and I'm so happy I did my workout :') Had breakfast very early (power pancakes!) and by the time I hit the gym I was starving again! I had a pretty big lunch:

That's grilled aubergine, potatoe, onion and mix of mushrooms with soy sauce. On the side, spicy mussels in brine. I had three slices of toasted wheat bread too. I love how crunchy it is :')

Lunch 26/06/2012

I didn't have my power pancakes for breakfast today, so I made myself a high protein lunch after the gym.
I cooked hot chili prawns with crab meat, which is a new favorite of mine :') Love spicy food.

Second course was cod~stuffed peppers, with no sauce whatsoever! After yesterday's huge dinner wanna keep the calorie intake low. :') They're great on their own anyway!

Ke Wok [Lunch 24/06/2012]

Lazy sunday :')
Today we went to Ke Wok, one of our favorite Wok restaurants in Madrid. We love it mainly because it's in the city center and they have sake sashimi (thinly sliced raw salmon) which is my favorite!
They also have many kinds of maki and sushi.

Closer view of one of the dishes (Tiger and I shared them :') ) With various maki and the sake sashimi.

You have the option to arrange some raw fresh ingredients (fish, meat, mushrooms, veggies...) and they grill them for you or you can choose a sauce (Soy, teriyaki, curry...) and make a wok out of them. Our grill had some king prawns with peppers, asparagus, onions and mushrooms:

And our wok had curry sauce and consisted of at least three kinds of mushrooms, king prawns and squids.

Tiger had some chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert, but I had my usual fresh fruit with chocolate :') I know, I know, but just once in a while I have to treat myself!

Watermelon, kiwi, melon and pineapple with chocolate and whipped cream. Yum. Best dessert ever.

Both Free Buffet lunchs plus two liter~bottles of water were about 27€.

Lunch 19/06/2012

I love salads :')
They're so fun and require so little effort to make! I usually make salad as main dish, so I try to make them complete (both protein and vitamins) and I always use spinach (the greener the veggie, the better for your health -and more satisfying too!-) instead of the not really nutritious lettuce.

This one had : spinach, fresh sliced tomato, sliced nonfat soft white cheese, anchovies, surimi and asparagus. No oil whatsoever, only balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt for dressing.

*Hold your hand with the anchovies, they're full of salt! I love them, but I only have 3 or 4 in each salad so I cut them in halves to fool myself :') .
*The nonfat soft cheese is filling and tasty, with some good protein and 0%fat.

Dinner 18/06/2012

Soccer night!
Tiger and I are not the biggest football fans out there but we kinda enjoy the "bigger" matches in which Spain plays. We love watching them while having dinner on our bed! So we usually display assorted foods or snacks and have them fuzz-free, picnic style.
Today's match was a bit on the boring side but dinner was great: grilled aubergine, onion, potatoes and squash with a pinch of salt and various sauces (BBQ, mayo, hummus, battered cheese, chili and mustard)

I just had them without any other extras but Tiger made  a couple of fajitas with the veggies.
Just for fun we threw some marinated dogfish and cod croquettes in the bunch .
Healthy, delicious  and fast :')
